I agree with your suggestion we will see a bottom on or about April 6, but I expect it to be a mid-term bottom. I'm guessing the funds have money to put back in to the market but there have been ample fund outflows of late, which may hamper the sustainability of any rally. Also, there are lots of people losing jobs out there, energy prices increasing, the California energy wildcard, earnings growth collapsing, Japan/South America/European issues, etc. etc. I certainly don't have a sense of where we (U.S. economy) head next.

JDS Uniphase (JDSU) 23 5/16: Merrill Lynch downgrades to NEAR TERM NEUTRAL from NEAR TERM ACCUMULATE given lack of visibility into the next few quarters; firm notes that Nortel accounts for 15% of JDSU sales; reduces FY01 est. to $0.61 from $0.64 and FY02 to $0.55 from $0.62.
