You are right, if you are talking on pure technical grounds.

However Intel has done very well with market segementation.

the celery/PIII will become low end by year end.
PIV high MHZ with SDRAM will be middle.
PIV high Mhz with RDRAM will be high end.

That is clearly their stated strategy.

If they execute perhaps they will do well.
