I believe that this is a good opportunity for Bush to prove his campaign promise of being "a Uniter (insert gesture) not a Divider (insert opposite gesture".

Clearly, Bush's plan is flawed. $6 billion this year, $30 billion next year will NOT stimulate the $10 trillion economy in any meaningful way. Demos have come back with a counter proposal; more tax cuts now, less cuts later where the data is much less clear.

Bush should now say ok, we'll do more now, and I'll met you in the middle on the other end. Choose the midway point between his current plan, and the Demos plan, and let's get on with it.

If Bush is right, then he'll get re-elected, and can propose further tax cuts if the economy does indeed perform as well as the estimates.

Come on, Dub, Unite Us already.
