Tim, I don't think that any of your concerns are valid. MSFT will support any legit use of their software and they will make it easy to do so, IMO. They are only trying to slow down the illegal use of their software.

Software from the internet is not a MSFT idea. It's a global change in the software market that will take place over the next few years.

All of the AOL software I've ever used is downloaded from the internet. They constantly update my software any time there's a change or improvement. I receive a prompt asking if I want the update, and I click yes or no. AOL has been doing this for quite a while and I like the service. I don't think you'll find any AOL users that complain about receiving their AOL software and updates as downloads.
