By the way, if the CA power crisis interests you, you might find this interesting reading: sce.com This is about the Decommissioning of SONGS #1 (nuclear power plant). You'll note that the plant was shut down in 1992 and didn't HAVE to be decommissioned till 2022, however, they thought it would be "better" to do it starting in 1992. Therefore, a plant that supplied power to 1/2 million people has now been reduced to scrap metal for recycling, and there is no longer an option to put it back in service.
