I still don't understand Vodafone's objections. It's a carrier, fer the love of Mike, and it should be happy that a company of which it owns 45% is using cost effective technology which takes it to 3G quicker than the alternative. I can't believe that network standardization, which will be effective for 2-3 more years, is worth the extra expense when multi-mode phones which will make it utterly unnecessary will be in existence within the same time frame. The objective clearly is not roaming. It's something else that we cannot yet discern.

Why the objection? If roaming is that that profitable, a carrier should be waiting with bated breath for the multi-mode phones. After all, it means that roaming will be that much easier and cost effective.

WTFDIK. Must be missing something.
