<The service charge for CDMA customers is less than half that of the GSM (global system for mobile communications) networks, which has more than 80 million users in the country.

CDMA network charges of 0.20 yuan (0.2 US cents) per minute compared with GSM charges of 0.40-0.60 yuan (0.5-0.7 US cents) per minute.>

SWEET!
And no mention of Nokia in the bidding. They must just be besides themselves. The largest new buildout for the next two years and they get to sit at home and watch.

Hmmm… I must congratulate the ramp up efforts of the marketing dept. of China Unicom. It took them six years to get 13M subs, and now they do it in one month. The effort is even more commendable considering it is done with some pilot networks in some cities yet to be named.
