One of the things I HAVE learned from reading these boards is that the exact fear I have of the religious right is shared by our conservative friends; but it is fear of the radical left. Since feelings of fear are an individual concern, I accept this wholeheartedly.

I think the point of the McCain-Feingold was to limit BOTH major parties. The problem is not Demo vs Rep, it is Big X vs Little Guy. One of the reasons I admire McCain (and wish I had a chance to cast a presidential vote for him) is EXACTLY his pushing for this reform, despite the growing opposition from both established parties.

Monopolies believe they are good for the people. The two parties have a monopoly on all elections, and want to keep that power. I'm leaning the other way on this, as I believe the two parties have shown major abuses when 'informing' the nations voters using these massive soft-money funds. Do we really believe that this amount of money has no strings attached?
