Still think the economy's in good shape?...........U.S. growth slows
GDP 1% annual rate, down from prior estimate, lowest in more than 5 years

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - The U.S. economy grew at a 1 percent annual rate in the fourth quarter, the government said Thursday, a bit slower than previously thought and the weakest performance in more than five years.

The reading was a shade weaker than the government's 1.1 percent growth rate estimated a month ago, which Wall Street didn't expect to be revised. Meanwhile, a key measure of inflation rose an unrevised 1.9 percent in the quarter, the Commerce Department said in its report.

In the third quarter, the economy grew at a 2.2 percent annual rate, much slower than early last year.
