And They Said There Were Barbarians At The Gates In The Eighties Well it seems that they have made their way well inside the city at this point. And the raping and pillaging of the people and their property is well under way as well. Your understanding of the implications of the situation we are in now, and the inevitable consequences which it will have for the people of the world for the next decade is keen. And while it is my predisposition to look for the humor of the situation, and to be amazed at the strangeness of it all, it truly is sad. Because what will be experienced was once not inevitable, but has been brought about by individuals who are so blinded by ego and greed, and so permeated by cheat and deceit that they have failed to notice that they are cutting off the branch they are sitting on. I don't mean this as a judgement of anyone - just an observation.
