chic, The bashing on that thread of Voltaire has become pretty childish. Nice post. For the life of me, it blows me away that people blame anyone but themselves if their investment decisions go awry; some of mine have been miserable, but so what? Its my responsibility. When small-minded people pile on by blaming Voltaire for bringing on Armageddon, I wonder how they get out of bed in the morning without directions. By the way, a belated "good call" is due to you for your market views that have proven accurate for the past year. jpgill

Chic Hearne, High-Fives to You!!! (Been out all day, just read your message). After saying that Voltaire had an awful track record this past year, you went on to say that was not your point. I had to work at it a bit, but then I realized what your point was. That because you had such a great track record this past year, others might be tempted to choose you as a new guru to follow. And you wanted to warn them not to. Good for you! Actually, probably a lot of folks like myself didn't even know about your great calls until you brought them to our attention, in some detail. And, yes, we might very well have been tempted to listen to you from now on. So, many thanks for warning us not to. Probably saved us a lot of grief. Actually, you and I are kindred spirits. All my life, I have worried that because I am so good-looking, so smart, and so successful, others might be tempted to follow my every move. Like you, I have always made a point to warn them not to. Thank God it has worked, as no one ever does. I just hope you have the same success.
