front banner of news.com, must not be free. I wonder if AMD does that because a) they get very high yeild at 1.3 or b) it's more like a "show the world" adds?

Current 1.3 prices suggest a) but my logic suggest b)

I followed the Gateway link. Their 1.3 GHz Athlon is the same price as their 1.3 GHz P4, but includes better sound, GEForce 2MX graphics instead of TNT2, twice the hard disk and CD/RW instead of a plain CD.

I like it better that AMD's OEMs are competing on features rather than price against the P4's. I don't think anyone wants these low end P4's with nothing inside. No consumer in their right mind would buy the P4 system.
