Paul, AMAT price should break out to the upside within 3 months, regardless of PE.

G, and you are not even going to qualify that with a "past performance is no guarantee of future results"? <gg> Are you basing that statement purely on historical expectations or are you divining a deeper meaning from the tea leaves available? I honestly can't figure it out any more. I think the situation is worse than it seems, but nothing fazes the market these days.

I uses Windows on Wallstreet and the TA charting is availible real-time. I using the 50 day simple MA and Williams %R as buy and sell indicator. It helped me in and out of QQQ with out Monday and Tuesday at $43 and back in yesterday at $40.

I hope you are right Gottfried and the up move is within three months.

Thanks

Stan

Hi Gottfried

I have a feeling that there may be a virtual perfect inverse relationship, between the number of AMAT analyst upgrades or downgrades, and subsequent AMAT price movements. Have you ever charted AMAT vs analyst opinion changes? (e.g. - after 20/23 have downgraded the stock, it becomes a flaming buy, and vise versa) It would be an interesting excercise if feasible. Or maybe you've already done this?

Don

AMAT price should break out to the upside within 3 months, regardless of PE. This is based on past behavior of the stock when bookings formed a V.

Gottfried,

When do you expect the nadir in bookings? If not until July, which I think is the earliest we may see an upturn, it will be mid-September before we have a report of a one month upturn in August. What's your bookings scenario for a breakout to the upside in the stock before July?
