I certainly agree that being politically informed is preferrable to being informed about the relative merits of the latest hygene products.

Let me modify my statement to comment not on the quantity of the political messages, but their quality. For one, the vast majority give only the two narrow perspectives; Republican and Democrat. For another, they are often misleading, confusing, and sometimes down right lies.

I liked the suggestion by someone else (sorry, forgot who) that we include more debate and other direct candidate TV interactions. These are least tell something about the character of the man (as was so clearly revealed of Gore in the debates). Including the third party candidates would also lend a different perspective, even if just to make the mainstream candidates respond to the issues of these minority parties.
