"Are there energy benefits on the base station side for CDMA2000? If the energy consumption is say 40% less than GSM or WCDMA that is an advantage I have not considered."The considerations actually could be very very large when you consider that CDMA uses alot less base stations to do the same work.The other consideration is the battery inefficency of GSM-GPRS.The chargers will be working overtime multiply that by millions and millions of users it mounts up to alot of power.Of course there is a bright side to GPRS phones if your stuck in a power outage you could always use your hot,melting plastic GPRS phone for a candle.
