Hey, they do? I've been online trading for 3 years and don't know. Who is it? The number 1 reason I don't short is having to call it (and the cover) in. CD

Actually Ally you should be able to short a stock as easily as you can buy or sell it online. I have several trading accounts with Investorline (not RRSP accounts) which allow me to short online. Instead of selecting BUY or SELL you select SELL SHORT. You do need to ask your broker to set up the account so you can short ... you need to ask your broker to set you up if you plan to buy or sell options as well. To cover your short all you do is buy the stock like you normally would. Lola:)

Actually, I'm surprised any stilldon't don't have online short sales...Clearly you have done no research on brokerages...and should probably stick to using an advisor. The minimum account balances at Tradefreedom and Schwab probably mean you can't qualify...you could try BMO, Enorthern I think...others. We have no idea what you are talking about abnormal margin requirements for making short sales.. I think you've just just who it is that doesn't trade ;)
