Biacore..... yup, there are other instruments out there. Their collaboration with MLNM is ages old, and Jim Silverman and I got to learn about the thrust/concept years ago. It was formalized later. While they got a late start at array screening, I wouldn't bet against MLNM helping to make the project competitive.

Regarding the "non-array" applications, they're now trying to penetrate the academic market with a cheaper version of the sucker. They also own a chunk of Axiom, as you know, and are trying to diversify into cellular screens.

Dunno..... seems like they need to spend big R&D bucks at the same time that competitive instruments are going to steal some of their gravy?? I like them, but I honestly feel that they delayed too long before getting aggressive about arrays. We'll see.
