Between my lunch friend and the Street.com story I think these guys have hit on it...
How are they gonna payback the billions tht they have borrowed??
Someone else comes in takes over the technology, maybe even improves it and boom No shareholder value.. They both said it..Hard to argue against..

Not saying this will apply to all companies bt I am sure that it will affect a lot of the telecom companies..
The strong will get stronger the weak will get eaten..

Is there a specific area of tech which you are most hopeful about?

I can attest to the fact that there is absolutely no end of VC, and other, money being offered to quality tech startups. Your positive outlook is shared by many. Some of the really big company's are giving lots of attention to investing while the prices are down.
