Dear nbb: No, I dont think that would happen, what would happen is people would make investment decisions based solely on the estimation of the company and its prospects without consideration of tax effects. This would provide LIQUIDITY to the market. Right now the prices are down and continue to drop cause there are no buyers. People are in shock and when that happens they just freeze up.
Now, some here have felt I am talking about myself. No, I am not concerned for myself. I have told this board in the past I am a relatively conservative investor and a substantial portion of my net worth is invested in fixed income securities so I have not been MORTALLY damaged here, in fact, since I have the cash flow to continue to buy here and there as I perceive great values I probably will come out of this better then ever. But, I know a lot of people, some of them younger who really OUGHT to stay in the market have given up or are frightened. I feel for them cause I know in the long run they will be sorry. JDN
