I think it is possible that PALM announced the entry of the 500/505 models to steer protential buyers of other high end PDA's. PALM will slow down their own sales but will also delay the sales of some their competitors. All things being about equal most people still prefer a PALM PDA since it has the largest base of users to "Beam".

With sales of V/Vx stalled because of the wait for m50x, ya gotta wonder if maybe those $50 rebates might grow a little as the quarter progresses...BTW, I did what I said I'd do, I picked up a lovingly used IIIe on EBay for, like, $50, and that will tide me over until...well...until something catches my fancy, lol.
