The thing with Napster is that it was a great way to distribute music on a peer to peer level, but nobody was making any money off of it. Hopefully we have learned our lesson from the first bubble, to be successful on the internet has to include a profit model. There is a lot more than just bandwidth that is needed too. Billing, security and other controls need to be worked out. Basically, it boils down to fences and walls.....if you have a concert and you have no way to keep people out, you also have no way to ensure that you get paid. Put up a fence or have the concert in a building, you have a way to ensure that payment is made.
