No, the DLC is not especially leftist.

However, look what happens. Clinton, a former DLCer, gets into office. One of the first things he does is try to ram through changes in the military treatment of homosexuality, despite the political inadvisability of leading with something that liberal, because the gay lobby raised a lot of money for him. Lieberman, another moderate, backs off of his opposition to partial birth abortions when accepting the nomination for vice- president, because NOW would penalize the ticket otherwise. The Clinton Administration could not win on NAFTA with Democratic votes, and was punished to some extent for its free trade policies by the unions and their Congressional allies. Constantly, the need to buy off special interests or prevent defections from the left in Congress pulls moderates away from the center......

Anyone who thinks that the 39% tax bracket should stay where it is, and that it it FAIR is way LEFT in my book.

And that seems to be all dems except a very few.

Un-American in addition to being leftist.
