<<<Mary,
Did I mention that I helped design the massively parallel Pentium Pro supercomputer at Sandia, which was the most powerful in the world at the time? >>>

QED. You have just proven my point. There is nothing that the folks at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. and other high end mainframe users do with their computers that either Intel or AMD could not do with their current chip technology.

All these folks (high end computer users) want to do is to process their transactions faster, more efficiently (less cost), and to scale to higher volumes.

All you (Intel or AMD) have to do is provide these folks with more MIPs, Teraflops, whatever at less cost. You could easily do it. It is all in the marketing.

That is all that McNealy and SUN has done - identified a market and went after it with some kludgy technology.

You (tech genius) are the one that should be elaborating on this. Not me.
