golfinvestor: Hey, you may well be right, so no US company is safe as is. One reason Qualcomm may have bid in Australia is that just as Qualcomm had difficulty early on getting its voice technology accepted in the US, it may have difficulty finding a company with the resources and management strength and independence in the US to do a proper job in rolling out its new data initiatives in a timely and most effective and efficient manner - the heart and drive may be wanting. All very much food for thought. But then there is KDDI in Japan, UNICOM in China, etc.etc.<G> And the new minister in Korea and the Korea/China nexus. Best. Chaz
