Lucky me!

I don't have IDLE.DLL on my system, so I don't know where it goes, what it does, or how it's loaded.

For your CD problem, first thing you must do is determine if the problem is hardware or software related. Quick checks like Device Manager or HWINFO /UI are a great way to begin.

Try your Startup floppy. It loads CD drivers. If it works, you know your hardware's OK.

Run System File Checker. It may pinpoint some trouble.

Cheers, PW.
