AMD can't drop EV6. A bunch of third party chipsets are being developed for it.

What is being developed in addition to current crop, other than NVidia Crush, KT-266 (more or less ready)? Possibly Micron and possibly another spin of 760MP / 770.

I hope all these chipset providers will have a prosperous 2001 and 2002, but beyond that, it looks like the Northbridge chipset business is going to disappear.

How long do you expect them to keep EV6? I'd say it's gone on the desktop within 1 year of the hammer release. Considering how quickly AMD has built the laptop version of the athlon, it may survive on the mobile side for at least 2-3 years after hammer release.
