I have read that AMD will be producing a Socket-A chipset that will implement LDT as a hub, similar to Intel's hub architecture. Perhaps when they move on to a 166(333) MHz FSB?

I think that the AMD roadmap specifies Clawhammer release before Thoroughbread.
