I think it is important to note that JDSU stock price peaked in Feb '00 at $153, nearly 7 months before the peak in its business cycle.

At the fiscal Q2 earnings announcement in Oct '00, there was still no hint a slowdown in JDSU business, but yet JDSU stock had be floundering for nearly 7 months. Part of this may have been due to the SDLI merger.

It is not unreasonable to assume that JDSU stock price will bottom well before the business cycle hits rock bottom.
