The capability I mentioned is part of their Unity platform, which is an integrated messaging system they purchased from Active Voice.

Specifically, I'd like to know how "voice to text" works in terms of the transcription technology.

I'm not aware of any "voice to text" conversion. In the solution that was demonstrated to me, the voicemail was converted to a .wav file which was then attached to an Email.

I can understand your interest if there was such a solution.
