<< ...what's the point of the announcement? >> MSFT is partnering with the largest broadband provider in Japan. NTT will promote Xbox as a reason to have broadband. Broadband service will prosper partly due to Xbox. Xbox will prosper partly due to broadband capability (that no other gaming platform comes with). Online gaming is going to be huge. If you don't realize this yet, wake up. MSFT's own Zone.com online gaming site is a tremendous success and is growing rapidly and beyond MSFT's expectations. Japan is years ahead of the rest of the world in broadband deployment. The other major markets of the world will catch up eventually. MSFT is in the right place at the right time once again. IMO, Dave
