Doug, The voting allows more popular posters to blatantly violate the rules and get away with it. This is why I voted against voting (sounds funny). I think Mani is able to dispense justice more fairly than a voting in a popularity contest. And this vote was just that. Joe

To Doug, Josef.. Mani originally set up this thread with the assurances to people that it would not be an arbitrarily moderated board.. that it would be a users board where the will of the readers would be taken into account... and not someone with enormous discretionary powers.. who had the potential to abuse the position.. (I remember the hub-bub on the original AMD thread when it first came up as a topic of discussion). Keeping the vote honours the original spirit of the board.. and remember... as Winston Churchill once said, and I paraphrase...Democracy is the worst way to run things - until you compare it to the alternatives
