maybe the mark already happened and they don't want to be bag holders next week...everything happens a little early these days since everyone knows about what will happen, the rules have to keep changing for the winners to keep making money and the losers to keep losing it

I suspect the rumor mill is rife with little snips about how the quarter end is going for the semis. For some companies, it's a mad dash to find the last open order to ship against. For others, it's a decision of how much backlog to fill this quarter, and how much to hold for next quarter.

It may be that this quarter is even weaker than some thought. We are seeing lots of order cancellations - can book to bill go negative? <g>

The behavior of stocks right around the quarter's end often seems to correlate with the quarterly report that follows. There may be new rules about disclosure, but word still seems to seep through the cracks. It's very hard to bottle up information...
