Ciena (CIEN: news, msgs, alerts) sank more than 10 percent after the Linthicum, Md., fiber-optic components firm completed its acquisition of Cyras, a privately-held Fremont, Calif., optical switching firm, for $1.1 billion in stock, or 27 million Ciena common shares. The stock has been in a tailspin since competitor Nortel Networks warned about its results earlier this week.
