gg Cox,

I think it is clear in the business model of SEG-Trade that it is aimed directly at overseas investors. You can't even open up an account in Canada for Direct Access, unless you want to go through all the loopholes such as getting a US PO Box # etc..

Also, I have a hard enough time managing my Canadian and US investments, and basically don't know sh*t about any companies on other worldwide stock exchanges. For that reason I'm not interested in trading foreign securities either. Not yet anyways...

Basically SEG is marketed at people outside the US and Canada (about 5 Billion people). I see North America as a saturated market with a high cost to obtain new customers and low margins for those customers (I had help with that sentance - thanks!). Elsewhere in the world is a virgin market, so I'm sure that 98% of users will be from overseas.. If even only 50 people from each of the 25 broker dealer countries are interested in daytrading US stocks, WOW$$$...

Finally, and I'm making a big assumption here, I imagine that the majority of SI users are from the US and Canada. Again I'm guessing, but I'd bet a lot of them feel the same as me about the use of SEG - think its an outstanding concept, but it dosen't really apply to their actual use. Go get an account yourself and tell us what its like!

Jason

If this was November or December i would open an account to experiment, it would take time to get familiar with US MM-style markets but a good thing to learn probably .... not practical now though, little online time in daylight ... i'm trying to stick with fewer and longer-term positions anyway, more thoroughly researched and hopefully lucrative at their own speed ... on all my major gains over the years i spent time as a bagholder, in many cases underwater for varying periods .... anyway, i was sort of handed an ultimatum with two clear choices - stay on the computer or stay married -g- ... an offline friend would likely open an account but is about to go travelling ... so, we wait.

Likely doesn't matter a great deal to cpt shareprice in this market anyway, we have to put in some time imho ... while we're collecting the 300 SEG shareholders necessary for smallcap, and the direct access is being introduced by the broker allies, and we're waiting on financials and ftut/SEG name change etc ... i'll be stink-bidding, settled in for the long haul.

[edit] - good point Jason, most of us here are canadians - Message 15589521
... 'no talibans nor dogs nor canadians', lol ... what a country eh, where they let the houses make the securities regs
