<<The chief executives of Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom and British Telecommunications -- three former state monopolies that rank among the leviathans of Europe's telephone industry -- are all under pressure to leave their posts for having accumulated huge debts over the past year.>>

Some heads will probably have to roll before 1X debuts in Europe. If we see this begin to happen it will be a good sign.

BTW isn't it interesting how these guys blame the government for their troubles. It doesn't seem to occur to them to go after the hypsters (NOK and ERICY for example) that spun them up on wCDMA with outlandish claims of product performance and unrealistic implementation schedules. Or to take any blame themselves for being dumb enough to believe it all. Real hard to feel sorry for this bunch.

The European people are the real losers and will ultimately pay for this nonsense. Time for all of Euroland to swallow its pride and go with the Q.
