I do think few would like Lucent without some
form of local subsidies at this point in history.

And few company stores like their customers roaming
freely, better to keep them fairly close paying the
bills of inefficiency, although it means losing
all that nice money of the business people badly
in need of being reached while doing business.

P.S. My niece, smart one, used SMS messages to Finland while
on the train to Mumbay.
But me, also interested in handoffs and coverage,
voice coders and connections through the international
ether made many long voice calls as well as
paid her Sonera roaming bill.
(fewer calls were actually dropped when she called,
very interesting)
