Priority Healthcare Announces Specialty Pharmacy Joint Venture With AdvancePCS LAKE MARY, Fla., Jun 18, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Priority Healthcare Corporation (Nasdaq: PHCC chart, msgs) announced today it has entered into an agreement to form a joint venture with AdvancePCS (Nasdaq: ADVP chart, msgs) to provide specialty pharmacy services to AdvancePCS' clients and their members. The joint venture, which will be named AdvancePriority SpecialtyRx, will begin immediately utilizing the existing infrastructures of both companies. AdvancePCS will own 51% of the venture and Priority Healthcare 49%. Robert Myers, Vice Chairman and CEO, Priority Healthcare, commented, "The creation of this joint venture with the nation's largest pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) is one of the most significant events in Priority Healthcare's history and is clearly a validation of our strategic plan to establish partnering relationships with the leading participants in the delivery of biopharmaceuticals from manufacturer to patient. By combining the strengths of the two industry leaders, we believe we can significantly influence the $12 billion specialty pharmacy market.
