I have made back about half my portfolio's drop writing covered calls. And I only have 3 writes open at this time.

I am long several stocks and have been able to stabilize my portfolio but that's about it. Is there a site that discusses and explains the different options terms like calls and puts and collars.

TIA.

ted

Hi Willcousa, RE: "I have made back about half my portfolio's drop writing covered calls"

That's great. What do you think about buying puts on high-tech stocks as a way to generate a premium to possibly buy more shares? I've been writing covered calls, which isn't as ST bearish as buying puts (but am doing this to increase shares for LT) and am thinking about doing this for CSCO at a low strike price.

Regards,
Amy J

Hi Willcousa, RE: "I have made back about half my portfolio's drop writing covered calls"

What strike prices are you generally using in this type of market?

(I'm hoping the market doesn't go up too much, otherwise I have to push my calls out.)
