We have universal access to health care. The idea that we don't have is another of the myths that liberals build their justification for control of the healthcare industry upon.

Insuring those who are already sick is not a matter of selfishness, but is directly contrary to the idea of insurance, which is to spread risk. Some companies are actually pretty good about preexisting conditions, at least up to the point. My wife has had to change insurance a couple of times in recent years, in the course of changing jobs, and had a preexisting condition (asthma) that was not held against her. But there is a limit to flexibility on the issue, without driving up costs enormously. Dictating policy on handling the problem will only cause rates to rise or coverage to shrink. Between the cracks remedies are the only alternative.

I do not think that the ad campaign was a lie. But I am can see we are not likely to resolve the matter at this time, and I am just cleaning up messages before going to bed, so perhaps another time.
