The trouble with bear markets is they last longer than anyone imagines possible -- "capitulation"? It seems so unlikely that we have seen anything like capitulation.

Indeed. I should qualify my comment : if Amazon makes it to Q4'2001 they will have no problem fudging their figures to show a "pro forma" operating profit.



Agreed but this is not likely.

So far the news coming from the reinsurers are not promising.

Most made their decisions by this AM and decided not to insure after this quarter.

As far as I recall, Amazon debt is trading around 50 cents on the dollar. It occurs to me that you could end up owning Amazon for less than $1 billion by buying a majority of outstanding debt and then waiting for Amazon to go belly up....

I agree but there are no assets. The DCs are all leased. There is some inventory and some servers..a name but not sure how good that name is anymore.
