Your comments are completely erroneous. I have a deep rooted faith in a higher entity.....call it God if you like.

Believing in a higher power and believing in every concoction that any man chooses to contrive into an organized religion are not one and the same.

You didn't take the time to read back through this thread and see how the conversation had developed. I was commenting on one specific religion that I had a bad experience with. In no way was I implying that all religions are bad.

I find the air of superiority and sanctimony of a goodly number of religious people (many insist smugly that those of other religions will burn in hell) together with their right to run profitable businesses without paying taxes, and certain other positions many of them take (forced gestation even by atheists for example), distasteful.

I think you've made clear that you also find such evidences of a lack of respect and deference on the part of the religious regarding the non-religious distasteful.

A little light humor isn't all that distasteful, though. There's a funny line making fun of atheists' non-belief that's awfully clever. It slips my mind now, it's late. I'll bet somebody knows it, and i'll laugh this time, too.
