Expect the Euro Army and Russian storm troopers to participate in joint military exercises pretty soon?

.....the backdrop will likely be an urban rebel environment?

Oh, boy.

Perhaps the Russians will demonstrate the deft moves they used to subdue Grozny.

When you think Russian military and intel operations, remember two words....."brute force".

The big question, I think, is Russia's desire for alliance with western Europe, esp. Germany. "Fool me once.....fool me twice....." Then again, Putin may think they have enough juice if they call out former assets in the East.

And, how about this.....The Euro Army will share intel and planning info with the Russians while keeping the U.S. at bay. And, then.....The Euros (NATO) will share intel and planning info with the U.S. and keep Russia at bay.

I don't mean to offend any individual here, but this is something only the French could have dreamed up.

The U.S./Western Europe alliance became irrelevant when the wall came down? It may be more relevant than ever.

If you follow the idea that Western Europe lost the common foe that unified it, you have to wonder what will unify it in the future.

The Euros are rushing to "unite" for one reason.....money. This kind of unity works well in the boardrooms of multi-nationals and among governing elites. It doesn't have too good a track record at ground level.

NATO worked for many reasons, chief among them, in my view, was the fact that it had a "first among equals" -- the U.S.

Squabbling (which can lead to conflict) among European members was minimal. Who will be "first among equals" in the anti-NATO? Will there be unanimous agreement on this and, if not, what will be the fate of pesky dissenters?

As much as NATO defended Europe from the Soviets, NATO defended Europe from itself. Will be interesting (but not pretty) to see what happens when the ultimate "peace-keeping" force folds its tent.

Remember that Nazi Germany never dropped a single bomb on US soil; actually, Hitler even refrained from storming Great Britain...

The fact that Hitler's bombers and missles did not have he range to reach the US might have had something to do with the first part. The fact that the Germans didn't win the Battle of Britain and the fact that the British navy was more powerful then the German navy might have had something to do with the second part.

Hitler even refrained from storming Great Britain..

Refrained from???? Since when "not able to" == "refrained from"?
Remember, a pre-condition for Sealion (which does show that Hitler intended to invade Britain) was control of the air over Britain. Germany never got that.

Accordingly, one might ask when comes the fourth one --that is, the one that wound up with
the sack of Constantinople..

Are you predicting defeat of the US by Europe? And fairly soon? Hard to see at this point- -and a highly uncertain prediction.
