Bob,

Capitalism and conservation ideals have incompatible tenets

How would the economy be in California now, if they hadn't cleaned up the toxic air in the 1960's?

Environmental quality and economic growth are inseparable. Dirty cities are poor, clean cities are wealthy.

Bob: America better learn quickly that conservation and capitalism CAN co-exist - and indeed can be beneficial.. or else the USA will go down in history as being the most greedy self-centred society of all time that refused because of this to reach forth and help save the environment.. it had the resources and the finances to help this venture, but it lacked political will -- and altruism was overcome by selfishness and greed...

Even greedy people like to breathe clean air and drink clean water.. acid rain and the clean air act proved that.. It also proved environmental measures can be put forth that wont damage the US economy.. thats a bogus argument.. and I hope the American people see that for what it is - a clever lie and deception.
