GSM and GPRS will be used as the "tractor" for gaps in UMTS coverage. Will this leave the customer asking why his fancy handset is transferring data at 9600 bps? Europe has a challenge on its hands with "3G customer satisfaction".

Combine smaller coverage of GSM in the PCS bands with no AMPS roaming, I am not surprised CDMAOne took off without snap-on faceplates.
