So far, most analysts are forecasting that the chip recession will be short-lived,
with growth expected to resume in 2002. But since many companies are saying
that they simply cannot predict even the next few months, no one really knows
for sure.

``It's impossible to predict how long we are going to be in this trough,'' said
Conexant's Allen. ``Looking forward, nobody can see anything.''


Good article TWICK...

Soon we'll see if the worst has already been priced into the chip stocks... If that's the case, we'll have to see if the new analyst's estimates can be met or bettered... If the chip companies do worse than the newly revised lower estimates, then watch out below... If they meet or beat those lowered estimates we could have a nice turnaround in the sector...
