Bill, was that a typo or is it just unclear what point you were trying to make? You can't mean that it takes 7% p.a. growth in US industrial production to sustain a rally.

Oh, and regarding consumption (and other economic indicators), you may have missed the news, but US consumer spending was up .3% last month and personal income rose .4% (hey, income rose more than spending - that's another good thing).

PS: "Stagflation" describes periods of high inflation, but slow or zero growth, not deflation and slow growth. Seems you're reaching a bit for things to interpret negatively and that's causing you to get your economics mixed up.

PPS: VIX remains in the mid-30s and put-call ratios are high, especially S&P 100 put-call. Oh, and the Consensus Index is only 10% bullish. Hmmm.
