The PC is capable of publishing the document to millions of people simultaneously on the net; and it is capable of reaching a billion web pages comprising hundreds of terabytes of information across the net rather than merely a few megabytes of contents in a local hard drive. -- George Gilder Clearly Mr. Gilder has never done any real consulting within the average mid to large size organization. Had he, he would realise that the vast majority of PC's are underutilized and that most users are not producers of content that can, needs to or should be promoted across a 'billion web pages'. PC's - great tools, but for most people, they remain little more than dumb terminals into line of business applications.
