I think voice mail universally disgusts everyone. They don't feel well taken care of there at all. For those of you calling on a rotary phone press one now. Voice mail is nothing more than a transitional technology for servicing people. OTOH I'd rather use voice mail when checking credit card balances and whatnot then talk to a rep any day. I haven't dealt with a bank teller in years, I'm comfortable with machines doing this kind of routine stuff.

I think you are going to see situations where consumers will be paid (or at least charged less)to use the web as opposed to traditional phone reps. Just recently I heard an announcement that one airline was going to charge ten dollars extra for paper tickets as opposed to electronic. They've been giving good deals on flights ordered over the web for a while as incentive, but this will drive it home.

How long do you think it will take for advocates for the poor to say that this is blatant discrimination against those that can't afford computers? <VBG>
