All "isdn" is is two analog lines hooked together. 56K times 2 less about 5-10K overhead.

Yes, DSL is available as long as you are within a certain (fairly short) distance from the the telephone company's nearest switch.

ISDN lines are available, but very expensive (first cost and monthly costs).

A cable modem service called AT&T @Home will be available in my neighborhood in about 6 months (if you believe what AT&T says). This is my best bet for getting off the analog modem, eventually.
