Other parts of Barron's were equally interesting. Ralph Accompura had some good analysis; close to a turn but not for the tech heavy NASDAQ.

Other articles had the opinion that many tech stocks got dumped last week because of "window (un)dressing" that takes place when mutual funds and other institutions clear out their dogs in order to look good in the Federally mandated quarterly reports. A similar thing happened last December and a year ago last December. Last DEC saw a similar dumping of tech stocks only to be followed a couple weeks into January by a nice but brief rally. Of course that rally turned into a "bear trap". I expect pretty much the same thing over the next couple of weeks; a rally in stocks such as CIEN, JNPR, maybe even in that junk stock CSCO. But I also expect lower lows for most of these former darlings by the end of summer . . . setting the stage for a rally toward the close of the year and into next as rate reduction start to take effect and all the bad news has been discounted.
